Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem javelin throw created history by bringing Pakistan its first medal in the World Athletics Championships.
Arshad Nadeem won the silver medal in the javelin throw event of the championships in Budapest, Hungary, finishing second by less than half a meter to gold medalist Neeraj Chopra of India.
In the javelin throw final of the World Athletics Championships, Arshad Nadeem threw 87.82 meters in the third round, which was his best throw among all 6 throws, but he could not surpass India’s Neeraj Chopra who threw 88.17 meters.
Arshad Nadeem Javelin throw 74.80 meters in the first throw, 82.81 in the second throw, 87.82 in the third throw, 87.15 in the fourth throw, and 81.86 meters in the sixth throw. His throw was called a foul in the fifth inning.
