Naseem Shah once again ruined the hopes of the Afghan team
Naseem Shah once again destroyed the hopes of the Afghan team. In the 2nd ODI Pakistan v Afghanistan match of the 3 ODI series, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by one wicket. Pakistan has completed 150 runs for the loss of one wicket in 27 overs. Fakhar Zaman got out after scoring 30 runs. Captain Babar Azam came to support Imam-ul-Haq and both tried to stabilize their team’s position by making a good partnership of 118 runs.
2nd ODI Pakistan v Afghanistan
On a total of 170, Babar Azam was caught out by Fazal Haq Farooqui. Mohammad Rizwan was run out for 176 after scoring 2 runs, and Salman Ali Agha was caught out by Mohammad Nabi after scoring 14 runs. Muhammad Nabi caught out Osama Mir in the same over.
At the other end, Imam-ul-Haq was caught out on 91 after being trapped by Mujeeb-ur-Rehman’s spinning ball. Pakistan’s seventh wicket fell on 258 in 46.2 overs when Iftikhar Ahmed was dismissed for 17 runs.
Shadab Khan got out after scoring 48 runs in the 48th over. Pakistan achieved the target of 301 runs one ball before the last over. Naseem Shah once again proved to be the crisis man by scoring the most important 10 runs in a very difficult situation along with Haris Rauf who remained unbeaten by scoring 3 runs.
Earlier, Afghanistan set Pakistan a target of 301 runs to win. In the second one-day match of the ongoing series in Hambantota, the Afghan openers performed brilliantly.
Afghanistan’s first wicket fell on 227 runs in the fortieth over when Ibrahim Zadran scored 80 runs and was caught out by Iftikhar Ahmed off Osama Mir. Rehmanullah Garbaz played a brilliant innings of 151 runs and fell victim to Shaheen Afridi who also dismissed Rashid Khan in the same over. Mohammad Nabi 29, Rashid Khan 2, and Shahidullah got out with just one run.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 2 wickets, and Osama Mir and Naseem Shah took one wicket each. Earlier, in the second match, Afghan team captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and decided to bat first.
He said that they want to see a good performance against Pakistan, and two changes have been made in the team. Rahmat Shah and Azmatullah Umarzai, who retired in the first ODI, have been ruled out of the series, Riyaz Hasan and Shahid Kamal have been made part of the playing XI in their place.
The captain of the team Babar Azam said that no changes have been made in the team, they will try to win the match and win the series. In the first match of the series, Pakistan defeated the Afghan team by a huge margin of 142 runs. Both the teams are playing the series in preparation for mega events like Asia Cup and World Cup, all three matches are being hosted by the Afghan Board in Sri Lanka.
